Philippe Wauquiez brings more than forty years of experience in the banking industry, including
twenty years at IndoSuez Group, where he started their operations in Scandinavia and run Banque
IndoSuez in Sweden.
Philippe started his career in the leather and the plastic industries. He then joined IndoSuez in
1970 where he was among other positions Director of the Rhone-Alpes region in Lyon.
In 1980, Philippe took responsibility for the development of Banque IndoSuez in Scandinavia. He set
up the bank in Finland (1982), Norway (1982), Denmark (1985) and Sweden (1986), which he
headed until 1989.
In 1990, he started in Stockholm his own M&A advisory firm FRANOR AB to help Scandinavian
companies develop their business in France and vice versa. FRANOR AB, which had a cooperation
agreement with Société Générale covering M&A in Scandinavia, closed a significant number of cross
border transactions between 1993 and 2000.
Back in France in 2000, Philippe continued to run FRANOR from Paris.
Philippe has been President of the Franco-Swedish Chamber of Commerce from 1982 to 1987 and
President of the Swedish section of the French Foreign Trade Advisors from 1987 to 1995.
Philippe is Officer of the National Order of Merit (France) and Commander of the Order of the Polar
Star (Sweden)
Philippe holds a Master from ESSEC (France) and an MBA from INSEAD.
